Women and Girls in Health Tech Workshop on 11th November 2024

Women and girls remain significantly underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, including health tech. This limits their potential to contribute to and benefit from digital health innovations.

The Women and Girls in Health Tech Workshop is a crucial step towards addressing the gender gap in STEM and empowering women to play a leading role in shaping the future of health tech in Africa. By providing a platform for inspiration, education, networking, and collaboration, the workshop will contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable health tech ecosystem that benefits all.

Aim: To host a side-event seminar at MUHAS during the Digital Innovation Forum, focussing on ‘Women, Science and Leadership for Digital Transformation in Africa’ – with Tanzania as a catalyst.

The Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH), LM International, MOHZ, PO-RALG, eGA,  MDU, and other partners, has been supporting digital health transformation in Tanzania through various avenues, including the organisation of knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives. This year, we are again organising the 3rd MUHAS Digital Health and Innovation Week from 13th to 17th November 2023 at MUHAS in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The events will include the 4th Tanzania Digital Health and Innovation Forum and Exhibition from 14th to 15th November 2024.

One of the events will be the Women and Girls in Health Tech Workshop, which will be held at MUHAS on November 11, 2024. MUHAS, LMI, and other partners will host the event.

Please join us in supporting girls and women in their journey to benefit from digital health innovations.
